Frequently Asked Questions

  • Beebombs are handmade seedballs, made from native Wildflower seeds, local clay and sifted compost. Almost all of our seeds species are on the Royal Horticultural Society's 'Perfect for Pollinators' list.

  • Just throw your Beebombs onto cleared ground and await your meadow. Each Beebomb contains a range of species and will thrive as long as they receive plenty of sun and water.

Cleared soil is best, the fewer grasses around the better too. Wildflowers are slow growers and can be outcompeted by fast growing grasses.

They work really well in pots.

  • What seeds are in your mix?

You'll find details, pictures and a list of all the native species in the Beebomb mix here.

  • Absolutely. Its a good controlled environment. Don't dig them in and just make sure they get plenty of water and sun. A minimum 25cm pot is recommended.

  • We deliver to any address in the UK for free. Delivery normally takes 48 hours from date of dispatch

  • There has never been a case of a pet or person being harmed by any of the species we use. Some do carry a theoretical risk but the volumes needed to have an effect are too high for any pet of person to realistically consume.

  • Grass can outcompete the wildflowers so we do say it's best to scatter on cleared ground. Many people cut the grass very short and then rake over the grass well to turn over the ground.

  • If kept cool, in the dark and dry, Beebombs will lie dormant for many years.

  • Make sure they gets lots of water then just wait and enjoy your new wildflower meadow.

  • I'm afraid they do need a lot of sun and water. Around 6 hours per day as an average. Some species will do better than others in shade but as a rule, they need a lot of sun.
